April and May are full of exciting events!
Coming up April 27th, I'm rolling out a new set of music for my new band "Pannonia" with trumpet, violin, trombone, bass & percussion. Then in May, I'll be heading out West with Nico Soffiato for a West Coast CD release tour! Our new album, TIME GELS, has been mastered, and is in the production process, and will be available online and in person at our shows in Seattle, Eugene, Mt. Shasta and Oakland. Thanks to an outpouring of support from friends, family and fans, the Josh Deutsch / Nico Soffiato Duo reached our fundraising goal on Rockethub, and are on the verge of recording our first album! We head into the studio between Dec. 10 - 13, and are shooting to have the album mixed and pressed by early spring 2011! Thanks to all who contributed and helped get this project off the ground! |

Back in NYC after a great couple weeks out West, teaching at the University of Oregon Summer Jazz Camp & playing a couple gigs in Seattle & Oregon. On deck - a quintet show @ iBeam in October on the FONT (Festival of New Trumpet Music) Fall series, and a recording project with the Nico Soffiato / Josh Deutsch Duo. Lots of brand new music appearing in both projects! |

I'm headed to the Middle East next week as part of the Duke Ellington Big Band under the direction of Victor Goines and Mercedes Ellington. We visit Dubai, Abu Dhabi and El Ain, performing concerts and clinics in all 3 cities!
