Teaching

As a teacher, Josh has experience at many levels, from elementary to collegiate students. As a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Oregon, Josh directed large and small jazz ensembles, as well as private trumpet and improvisation instruction, and was awarded the 2007-8 Excellence in Teaching Award. Josh has appeared as a clinician at the University of Oregon, Umpqua Community College and Lane Community College. He has been a member of the faculty for the University of Oregon's Summer Jazz Camp and the Oregon Festival of American Music's Jazz Camp from 2007 to the present.

Josh is also a teaching artist with LeAp NYC, an organization placing musicians, artists, dancers and actors into residencies in the New York Public Schools.

Josh is available for private lessons in trumpet, improvisation, composition and theory at all levels, as well as beginning to intermediate piano and jazz piano.
